The McNabb families’ history with Nanaimo dates back almost 65 years and has been an integral part in shaping many of the city’s sporting teams, Nanaimo City Council and local businesses. Larry’s Dad, Cory’s grandpa and the uncles came to Nanaimo in search of a place to plant roots, and they sure did. “Grandpa” Cliff and “Big Uncle” Larry McNabb have both been honoured by the City of Nanaimo for their contributions to the community, with the building the Cliff McNabb Arena at Beban Park and the naming of the “Larry McNabb Sports Zone” which consists of Nanaimo Ice Centre, Nanaimo Aquatic Centre, soccer pitches and the Seuraxman Stadium in Larry’s honour. Cory and Larry both continue that tradition with their own participation in coaching, supporting various sports endeavours and other volunteer work.

Cory started his client focused sales career over a decade ago as a commission based “Product Expert” at Future Shop.
